【摘要】:Thispractice,intendedforuseintestingroller-compactedconcrete,maybeapplicabletotestingothertypesofcementitiousmaterialsuchascoarse-grained,soil-cement.Thispracticeprovidesstandardizedrequirementsformoldingstifftoverydryconsistencyconcretemixturescommonlyusedinrollercompactedconcreteconstruction.Thispracticeisusedinsteadofroddingorinternalvibration,whichcannotproperlyconsolidateconcreteofthisconsistency(Note1).Note18212;FurtherdescriptionofrollercompactedconcreteconsistencyisgiveninACI207.5Rand211.3.TheconsistencyofconcreteusingavibratingtablemaybedeterminedinaccordancewithTestMethodsC1170.Thispracticeisusedtomoldcylindricaltestspecimenscommonlyusedfortestingcompressiveortensilestrengthofconcrete.SpecimenstestedforcompressivestrengthandsplittingtensilestrengthshallbeinaccordancewithTestMethodsC39/C39MandC496/C496M,respectively.Testspecimensalsomaybeusedtodeterminedensityoffreshconcrete.SpecimenstestedfordensityoffreshconcreteshallbeinaccordancewithTestMethodsC1170.Note28212;Forsomeextremelydrymixtures;(thosewithaconsistencygreaterthan45swhentestedinaccordancewithTestMethodsC1170)thedensityofspecimensmadeinaccordancewiththispracticemaybegreaterthanthein-placedensityofroller-compactedconcreteduetothegreaterpotentialforvoidsatthebottomoftheliftsinthefield.1.1Thispracticecoversmoldingcylindricaltestspecimensfromconcretewhenthestandardproceduresofroddingandinternalvibration,asdescribedinPracticeC31/C31MandPracticeC1176,arenotpracticable.Thispracticeisapplicabletofreshly-mixedconcrete,preparedinthelaboratoryandthefield.1.2Freshly-mixedconcreteismoldedincylindricalmoldsusinganelectricvibratinghammerequippedwithashaftandcircularplate.1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.4Thetextofthispracticereferencesnotesandfootnotes,whichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthispractice.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
