【摘要】:Thispracticeisprimarilyintendedforusebyassociations,third-partygradingagencies,technicalsocietiesandothergroupsthatdevelopnationaldesignstandardsanduserecommendationsforroundtimberpiles.Thispracticeprovidesproceduresforestablishingcompressionparalleltograinandbendingstressesforroundtimberpilesincluding:samplingofmaterialfortesting;methodsoftestandpropertycalculationprocedures;distributionanalysisoftestdata;proceduresfordeterminingadjustmentsforcriticalsectionlocation;pileoversize,loadsharingandtreatment;andproceduresforderivingallowablestresses.Inusingallowablestressesestablishedunderthispractice,factorsspecifictoeachendusewhichmayaffecttheperformanceofthepilesystemshallbeconsideredbythedesigner.Suchfactorsincludethelocationofthecriticalsection,thebearingcapacityofthesoil,theabilityofthepiletowithstanddrivingforces,thepropertiesofthecaporloaddistributiveelementtyingpilestogetherandtheloadingandconditionsofservice.1.1Thispracticecontainsproceduresforestablishingallowablecompressionparalleltograinandbendingstressesforroundtimbersusedforpiling,basedonresultsfromfull-sizetests.Note1AllowablestressesforcompressionperpendiculartograinandshearpropertiesareestablishedinaccordancewiththeprovisionsofPracticeD2899.1.2Stressesestablishedunderthispracticeareapplicabletopilesconformingtothesize,quality,straightness,spiralgrain,knot,shakeandsplitprovisionsofSpecificationD25.1.3AcommentaryonthepracticeisavailablefromASTMInternational.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
