【摘要】:Thecloudpointofpetroleumproductsandbiodieselfuelsisanindexofthelowesttemperatureoftheirutilityforcertainapplications.Waxcrystalsofsufficientquantitycanplugfiltersusedinsomefuelsystems.Petroleumblendingoperationsrequireaprecisemeasurementofthecloudpoint.Thistestmethodcandeterminethetemperatureofthetestspecimenatwhichwaxcrystalshaveformedsufficientlytobeobservedasacloudwitharesolutionof0.1x00B0;C.ThistestmethodprovidesresultsthatareequivalenttoTestMethodD5773/IP446.ThetemperatureresultsofthistestmethodhavebeenfoundtobewarmerthanthoseofTestMethodD2500/IP219byanaverageof0.49x00B0;C;however,nosamplespecificbiaswasobserved.SimilartoTestMethodD5773/IP446,thistestmethoddeterminescloudpointinashorterperiodoftimethanTestMethodD2500/IP219.Note18212;Incasesofsampleswithcloudpointsnearambienttemperatures,timesavingsmaynotberealized.Note28212;ThistestmethodeliminatesmostoftheoperatortimerequiredofTestMethodD2500/IP219.Note38212;Theonlyutilityrequiredbytheapparatusdescribedinthistestmethodiselectricitywithpowerconsumptionofapproximately20watts.Theelectricpowercancomefromanalternatingcurrentsource(wallreceptacle)ordirectcurrentsourcesuchasabatteryoracigarettelighterpluginavehicle.Note48212;TheapparatusdescribedbythistestmethodcanbemademuchsmallerandlighterthanthatofTestMethodsD5773/IP446andD2500/IP219,allowingfullportability.Note58212;Theapparatususedinthe2006interlaboratorystudyweighedapproximately1kgandoccupiedthespaceofasmalllunchbox.SeeSection13.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecloudpointofpetroleumproductsandbiodieselfuelsthataretransparentinlayers40mminthicknessbyanautomaticinstrument.1.2Thistestmethodcoverstherangeoftemperaturesfromx2013;60to+20x00B0;Cwithtemperatureresolutionof0.1x00B0;C;however,therangeoftemperaturesincludedinthe2006interlaboratorycooperativetestprogramonlycoveredthetemperaturerangeofx2013;35to+12x00B0;C.SeeSection13.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
