【摘要】:Thistestmethodevaluates,undercarefullycontrolledconditions,thechangesinthemassofatestspecimenonexposureundervacuumtoatemperatureof125x00B0;Candthemassofthoseproductsthatleavethespecimenandcondenseonacollectoratatemperatureof25x00B0;C.The24htesttimedoesnotrepresentactualoutgassingfromyearsofoperation,soahighertesttemperatureshortertimewasselectedtoallowmaterialcomparisonswithnointenttopredictactualoutgassinginservice.Thetesttemperatureof125x00B0;Cwasassumedtobesignificantlyabovetheexpectedoperatingtemperatureinservice.Ifexpectedoperatingtemperaturesexceed65to70x00B0;Cthetesttemperatureshouldbeincreased.Itissuggestedthattesttemperaturebeatleast30x00B0;ChigherthanexpectedmaximumservicetemperatureinordertoprovidematerialcomparisonsforTMLandCVCM.Comparisonsofmaterialoutgassingpropertiesarevalidat125x00B0;Csampletemperatureand25x00B0;Ccollectortemperatureonly.Samplestestedatothertemperaturesmaybecomparedonlywithothermaterialswhichweretestedatthatsametemperature.Themeasurementsofthecollectedvolatilecondensablematerialarealsocomparableandvalidonlyforsimilarcollectorgeometryandsurfacesat25x00B0;C.Sampleshavebeentestedatsampletemperaturesfrom50to400x00B0;Candatcollectortemperaturesfrom1to30x00B0;Cbythistesttechnique.Datatakenatnonstandardconditionsmustbeclearlyidentifiedandshouldnotbecomparedwithsamplestestedat125x00B0;Csampletemperatureand25x00B0;Ccollectortemperature.Thesimulationofthevacuumofspaceinthistestmethoddoesnotrequirethatthepressurebeaslowasthatencounteredininterplanetaryflight(forexample,10x2212;12Pa(10x2212;14torr)).Itissufficientthatthepressurebelowenoughthatthemeanfreepathofgasmoleculesbelongincomparisontochamberdimensions.Thismethodofscreeningmaterialsisconsideredaconservativeonebecausemaximumoperatingtemperaturesinserviceareassumednottoexceed50to60x00B0;Cformostapplications.Itispossiblethatafewmaterialswillhaveacceptablepropertiesattheintendedusetemperaturebutwillbeeliminatedbecausetheirpropertiesarenotsatisfactoryatthetesttemperatureof125x00B0;C.Also,materialsthatcondenseonlybelow25x00B0;Carenotdetected.Theusermaydesignateadditionalteststoqualifymaterialsforaspecificapplication.ThedeterminationsofTMLandWVRareaffectedbythecapacityofthematerialtogainorlosewatervapor.Therefore,theweighingsmustbeaccomplishedundercontrolledconditionsof23x00B0;Cand50%relativehumidity.Alternatively,allspecimensmaybeputintoopenglassvialsduringthe24-htemperatureandhumidityconditioning.Thevialsmustbecappedbeforeremovalfromtheconditioningchamber.Eachspecimenmustbeweighedwithin2minafteropeningthevialtominimizethelossorabsorptionofwatervaporwhileexposedtoanuncontrolledhumidityenvironment.Whilecontrolofhumidityisnotnecessaryatthispoint,thetemperaturefortheweighingshouldbecontrolledat23x00B0;C,thesametemperatureprescribedfort......
